The Most Common Procedure

February 5th, 2011

There are many procedures that have been developed to make our skin have a more youthful look and these are called cosmetic procedures. Dermatologists often perform these procedures and to do this they have received medical training.  This training makes them qualified to evaluate your skin and decide which cosmetic procedure is right for you. What he advises will be safe and can effectively diminish those signs of aging you are wanting to get rid of.

Botox, or botulinum rejuvenation, is the most common procedure that is able to erase years from your neck or face. This treatment reduced the appearance of wrinkles and lines and in most cases, requires no downtime. All across the US and the UK, this cosmetic procedure is performed more than any other.

The doctors who perform Botox injections have been trained and are certified so they can treat patients safely. To find out more about this training, you can read about Botox training London to get all your questions answered. The Botulinum rejuvenation can be used with other cosmetic procedures to give you the youthful appearance you are looking for. After your treatment, you can apply makeup as long as you don’t press or massage the injection areas.

How to Protect and Treat Dry Skin through the Winter Months

January 22nd, 2009

waterTreating dry skin throughout the year can be frustrating for those that commonly experience the effects of dry skin. There are many aspects which can be taken to reduce the symptoms such as itching and flaking that seem to be common through the winter months. Here are some of the ways that you can keep your skin dry throughout the cold winter months.

  • At night, use a humidifier to reduce the dryness during the evening. This can help to reduce the skin drying out through the night.
  • In the morning when you wake up create a makeshift steam room with the use of the shower on hot and the door closed to create steam within the room. To make the most of the steam room apply lotion to the skin while it is becoming hydrated.
  • Stop using hot showers. Hot showers have been known to dry the skin, as opposed to warm showers which can help the skin to maintain the moisture.
  • Follow up all showers with moisturizing lotion. The lotion should be oil based as this can help to moisturize the skin, as opposed to a lotion that is water based.
  • Be sure to keep hydrated. One of the first ways to ensure that the skin remains hydrated is to drink lots of water, especially through the winter months.

Use these tips to keep hydrated through the winter months and ensure that you are maintaining the health of your skin.
